What do I do with parents with young children

Children below the age of 10 are not allowed in the main sanctuary. However, some exceptions are made during special events/meetings. Always check with your usher leader for the latest updates.

Gently and politely ask the adults to bring their children to Sunday School (Ages 3 - 6 Hall of Hope, ages 7 - 12 Hall of Joy). Sunday School (The Champs) flyers are available for parents information. Otherwise, they should remain in the nursery or playroom to avoid disruption to the service.

For those who still insist on being in the main sanctuary, lead them to the row nearest to the door next to the nursery and inform your leader. Inform the parents that the children would have to go to the nursery if they become restless and disruptive. Appeal to their benefit that the playroom is made specially available for children's and parents' comfort. There is also a nursing mother's room for privacy. Inform them that they can sit with their children in the nursery and that they can comfortably follow the service via the projection screens.

New comers in particular have to be treated with gentleness and discretion. Care must be taken to avoid antagonizing them, of make them feel alienated
